2017-18 School Calendar For White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, NY — You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2017-18 school year in White Plains.

• Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
• First day of school: Sept. 5
• Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
• Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
• Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day: Nov. 7
• Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
• Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 23-24 (half-day Nov. 22)
• Holiday recess: Dec. 22-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 2)
• Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
• Presidents Day (school closed): Feb. 19
• Winter recess: Feb. 20-23
• Spring recess: March 30 (Good Friday)-April 6
• Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 28
• Last day of school: June 22

If schools are closed more than three days due to weather, schools will be open in the following order: April 6, April 5, April 4 and April 3.

If no snow days are used, schools will be closed on May 24, May 25 and May 29. If one snow day is used, schools will be closed on May 24 and May 25. If two snow days are used, schools will be closed on May 25.
