“As natives of Westchester and long-time members of the business community, we believe in giving back to our neighbors. We were shocked to find out how widespread hunger has become in Westchester, one of the wealthiest counties in the country,” said Christopher Murphy, President and Construction Director of Murphy Brothers Contracting. “It is an honor to support this effort along with the Food Bank for Westchester knowing that the proceeds will help so many children and families in need.”
Christopher and Sean Murphy are co-owners and operators of Mamaroneck-based Murphy Brothers Contracting, Inc., one of Westchester’s leading contracting companies. The company is a model in both the business and philanthropy communities, having worked in collaboration with both Habitat for Humanity and Furniture Sharehouse, and volunteering to help with the massive clean-up in Breezy Point and the Rockaways where homes were devastated by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. They encourage the architects and design community to support these organizations, financially, with material donations and also by volunteering.
“We are very excited to be a part of such a wonderful event for the second year,” said Christopher Murphy. “Much needed funds are generated from ‘An Evening in Good Taste’ and it is one of Food Bank’s highest-attendance events during the year.”
