3 Westchester Cos Create the "Trifecta of Healthy Older Adults"
Martine Center, White Plains YMCA, and Thomas H. Slater Center Join Together to Create Senior Programs for 2018

Three Westchester companies who target different areas of family care have decided to form a partnership called the “Trifecta of Healthy Older Adults”, a one conglomerate outfit geared towards seniors and designed to offer the best of senior care. All three Trifecta companies based in White Plains, the Martine Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing on Tibbets Avenue, the White Plains YMCA on Mamaroneck Avenue and the Thomas H. Slater Center on Fisher Court together make 2018 the year that senior health will be front and center.
“We are so thrilled to partner with the White Plains Y and the Thomas H. Slater Center so the three of us as Trifecta can offer such smart, educational and joyful senior programs for the city of White Plains and Westchester County,” said Nancy Milyko, Regional Marketing Director, Centers Health Care and the Martine Center. “The three companies offer different areas of family health so it only makes sense that we unite in order to offer the best of brands for our seniors.”

This Trifecta partnership was first introduced at a naming and dedication on February 5, 2018 at an event at the Thomas H. Slater Center called, “For Diane Drop in Center”. On February 12, 2018, the Trifecta group held their kick-off event for seniors at the White Plains YMCA whereby a movement variety class taught by instructors specializing in older adult wellness was offered and a registered dietitian was on board to discuss “Eating Healthy on a Budget”.

“The collaboration is vital to the community,” said Heather Bell, Executive Director, White Plains Family YMCA. “It (the Trifecta) meets the needs of our older adults through three important areas including socialization, healthcare and wellness. The White Plains Family YMCA is proud to be able to satisfy the wellness portion of the Trifecta of Healthy Older Adults in our community. We are here for our community!”
The February 12 kick-off event was the first of many events to follow during the course of the year. This spring, there will be an eight-week program called, “Spring Into Your Health – The Biggest Loser”, which will include a YMCA personal trainer, as well as a health fair at the YMCA. Later in July of 2018, the Thomas H. Slater Center will have a community festival and then in September, there will be a fall social event at Martine Center.

“The Trifecta allows seniors to interact with others and expose them to experiences and places outside their home base and comfort zone,” said Heather Miller, Executive Director, The Thomas H. Slater Center. “It's a win-win for everyone.”
