On Wednesday, May 7th at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, county seniors commuted by bus, cars and other means of transportation to come together at the 58th Annual “Salute to Seniors” event as the county paid homage to those we look up to, offering them a great day of fun, food, educational programs, health screenings, and let’s not forget dancing.
Current Westchester County Executive Ken Jennings, former County Executive George Latimer, former White Plains Mayor Tom Roache, plus other County officials came to enjoy the day as they mingled with the crowd and spoke on stage, presenting uplifting discussions.
Nearly 90 vendors were present, including New York Presbyterian Hospital, Greenwich Hospital plus many other healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and insurers to speak to the seniors about the newest programs they now offer. Blood pressure screenings were given, as well as demos teaching various special exercise programs, and a class teaching cell phone do’s and don’ts was given.
All in all, a great time was had by all.
