On June 2nd, from 9 AM – noon, Westchester County will host ‘ConXpo: The Next Generation’, offering small businesses the opportunity to connect with more than 75 exhibitors, ranging from business advisors and industry experts to co-working spaces and business lenders. Attendees will also be able to learn more about getting certified and registered as MWBES, SDVOBS and DBEs, as well as government contracting opportunities.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said, “We want our small businesses to be well-informed about the depth of resources at their fingertips, as well as the opportunities to secure contracts and scale here in Westchester. ConXpo brings together knowledgeable experts, approachable resource providers, and credible funders so our small businesses can make the most of what the County has to offer.”
Westchester County Office of Economic Development Director Bridget Gibbons said, “Small businesses play an integral role in Westchester’s economy. Our goal is to equip small business owners with the knowledge and resources they need to hire, buy, and vend locally. ConXpo is a great opportunity for this community, and we look forward to meeting many small business leaders during the event.”
Westchester County Director of Policy and Programs, Small Business and Chambers of Commerce Shari Rosen Ascher said, “From chambers of commerce and networking groups to coworking spaces, mentors, not-for-profit organizations and funders, Westchester County is home to a robust pool of resources for small businesses. Whether you recently launched a new business or run multiple businesses, are new to Westchester or a veteran of the local business community, there is something new you can learn about at this event.”
Westchester County Director of Minority and Women-Owned Business Development and Immigrant Affairs Martha Lopez said, “The goal of ConXpo is to equip our small businesses to achieve optimal success. Learning more about government contracting opportunities, understanding the ins and outs of becoming certified as an MWBE, and becoming better informed about what it means to be an SDVOB or DBE are all ways to set your business up for a brighter future. We encourage all small business owners and executives to mark their calendars for this exciting event.”
ConXpo is designed to connect small business owners, Chambers of Commerce, MWBEs (Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises), SDVOBs (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses), DBEs (Disadvantaged Business Enterprises), and business resource providers from across the region. This unique intersection of nonprofits, businesses, and government is a valuable resource for individuals looking to expand their networks, explore procurement and contracting opportunities, and access tools to support business growth.
