Family Fun Wellness Festival Will Come To Tibbits Park In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Who knew wellness could be this much fun for the whole family?

White Plains families will be able to mix health services, fitness activities and entertainment at the Family Fun Wellness Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Tibbits Park. The annual event, hosted by the City of White Plains Youth Bureau, is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m.

The festival is designed to bring families and the broader community together around health education and community connection. The event will focus on helping residents learn about caring for themselves and their families through activities and on-site experts covering topics including fitness, nutrition, substance abuse and mental health.

The afternoon lineup includes music from a DJ and featured teen bands, along with Zumba, cardio and yoga sessions. Children and teens will also have access to arts and crafts, face painting and henna tattoos, according to the announcement.

Health services are also planned on site. The announcement says multiple free health screenings, wellness checks and vaccinations for COVID and flu will be offered. EMS professionals are expected to provide demonstrations on life-saving techniques, and vendors will share information about products and services tied to healthy living for families.

Mental and emotional health will also be part of the event's programming. Mental health resources will be available on site to discuss support for families' emotional well-being. Substance Abuse Prevention Education and Certified Prevention Specialists will also be present with materials focused on preventing substance abuse.

White Plains Hospital is serving as the Community Health Sponsor, while NewYork-Presbyterian is the Youth Mental Wellness Sponsor. Westchester Medical Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery were also recognized for supporting the event.
