AMORE PIZZERIA & PASTA REMAINS POPULAR AUTHENTIC ITALIAN EATERY AT 15TH ANNIVERSARY

Armonk, NYAmore Pizzeria & Pasta located at 575 Main Street in downtown Armonk, NY is proud to announce their 15th year anniversary serving the hamlet of Armonk and the North Castle community.

“We love Armonk and the North Castle community and feel privileged and blessed to have been able to serve this community for so long,” says Joe Mazzotta, founder and co-owner, along with his brother Mark, of this authentic Italian eatery.  Amore’s expansive Italian menu, casual dining and welcoming family/child-friendly atmosphere have long made it the target destination for local families, as well as area celebs and a large corporate clientele.

“This community has recently seen a number of upscale, high end restaurants open in town – in fact it’s become a restaurant destination community, with even more on the way,” says Mazzotta.  “But make no mistake, Amore remains a mainstay; a true family friendly, and economically friendly, destination for authentic Italian food & pizza.   Whether it’s carry-out, delivery or dining in, we are still the same “nuts and bolts” Italian eatery we were when we opened in 1998, with 80 % of our original kitchen staff.”

As Italian-Americans proud of their Calabrian heritage, Joe and Mark pride themselves on providing their loyal clientele with the rustic, flavorful, fresh generational-old recipes from Italy’s ‘boot’ that they grew up with at home.  An ingredient driven menu features a variety of regional Italian culinary treasures, and runs the gamut from multiple selections of authentic Italian brick oven style pizza, panini, wraps and tramezzini to homemade soups, designer salads, over 25 pastas and entrees including chicken, veal, and seafood.  Joe “goes out of his way” to source the highest quality ingredients. At this time of year he brings in local orchard apples, pears, fall squash or last minute tomatoes and zucchini from his own garden or Westchester and Dutchess farms.

“We honor Italy’s cooking principles by focusing on simple, pure ingredients,” he says.  “In addition to our Italian classics, we offer innovative seasonal specials that are posted daily on the website and always draw people in.”

Joe and his brother’s foray into the restaurant industry began when both were young.  “It’s really a story from the ground up,” explains Joe.  “We lost our father, Joseph Mazzotta Sr, the family patriarch, when we were young and to make ends meet after his untimely death our mother and my brother and I started working for our uncle who owned and operated successful pizzerias in The Bronx and Westchester in the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s.”

Over the years Joe and Mark paid their dues working in restaurants throughout the tri-state area.  “We worked from the “front of the house” to the “back of the house;” from dishwasher and potato peeler to busboy and waiter and everything in between before moving onto management and ownership,” says Joe.  Along the way they learned every angle and facet of the food industry, and discovered their own innate passion for the fine craft of attentive Italian cooking and winemaking, that began at home among parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Today, along with Amore Pizzeria & Pasta, which opened in 1998, the brothers also own and run the popular Pomodoro Pizzeria & Trattoria in Riverside, CT.

And today, just as in years past, you can still find Joe in the kitchen, alongside his longtime chef, aprons on, preparing their humble food with love and serving the customers they consider part of their family.
