The Magnotta family, father and son Angelo and Angelo Jr., affable hosts and operators of in White Plains, came from a family of shoemakers who settled in White Plains via Naples, Italy.
The family worked hard to put their roots into the ground eventually opening one of Westchester’s earliest pizza parlors.

Now they are marking their 40th Anniversary throughout the month of April introducing their refurbishing of the restaurant/pizzeria, new anniversary specialties at lunch and dinner, and pizza give-away drawings.
The Magnottas have been serving neighborhood patrons their flavorful signature pizza pies, stuffed calzones, strombolis and popular Italian-American specialties peppered with a great big smile for 4 decades.

Son Angelo Magnotta Jr. is often seen busy behind the counter as the dining rooms buzz at lunch and dinner time, neighbors at a communal table discussing the day’s events, workers from nearby White Plains Hospital chatting, the friendly waitresses calibrating their chores, while Angelo Sr. often greets patrons out in front of the house.
“I love it!” he says with that great big grin.
That about sizes it up here on a typical day. Magnotta’s is a friendly, neighborhood pizzeria-restaurant where everybody knows your name once you make a couple of visits.
And some customers, Angelo points out, have been trekking here for many, many years from surrounding towns as well.
There is something to be said about longevity in the restaurant business in this era of trendy come-and-go eateries and this place proves it.
The dining room is divided in two after a recent renovation and seats about 40 guests comfortably. There is a cozy service bar and a Hall of Fame cabinet sitting off to the side filled with local history and folklore. Behind the counter pizza boxes are piled high with Magnotta’s kitschy retro logo.
I have already tried two of their pizzas: the classic cheese pie and spicy buffalo chicken, and both were very good. There are about 23 different pies to choose from along with fresh made stuffed calzones, strombolis, sausage and chicken rolls.
The menu tries to fulfill a lot of other cravings as well. There are omelets, grilled burgers, hot and cold wedges and sandwiches, wraps, pasta a la carte, and complete dinners.
The best part: portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. There are also daily blackboard specialties that augment the regular menu.
Come visit the Magnottas during their 40th. They will make you feel right at home.
