WESTCHESTER PARK PEDIATRICS WELCOMES

MICHELLE RATAU, MD, MPH

WHITE PLAINS, NY, March 12, 2012 – Westchester Park Pediatrics is pleased to announce its newest physician, Michelle Ratau, MD, MPH.  Beginning April 3, 2012, Dr. Ratau will join the staff and begin treating patients at Westchester Park Pediatrics, a state-of-the-art practice that specializes in medicine for children and adolescents.

For the past 14 years, Dr. Ratau has practiced general pediatrics in Manhattan and the Bronx.  She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  After earning a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, she attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and then went on to achieve a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.

Dr. Ratau performed her medical training at Jacobi Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center, and the Children’s Hospital of New York.  Utilizing her knowledge and experience to educate others, she has taught students and resident physicians at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Columbia University, and Weill Cornell Medical College.  With a true desire to help people, she served as an education volunteer for the Peace Corps in the Central African Republic, and completed a medical rotation in Dakar, Senegal.

More than a highly qualified pediatric physician, Dr. Ratau is deeply dedicated to getting and keeping her patients healthy.  Her genuine care allows her to deliver kindhearted treatment that makes children of all ages feel comfortable.  As a mother herself, she understands the concerns of parents and relates to them on both a professional and personal level.

“I feel this is a wonderful step in my career” said Dr. Ratau, “and I am thrilled to be joining this excellent pediatric practice.”

Founders of Westchester Park Pediatrics, Dr. Jody Ross and Dr. Patricia Avvocato warmly welcome Dr. Ratau to their practice.  They are confident she possesses the experience and compassion necessary to provide the first-rate care their families have come to expect.

“We feel fortunate that Dr. Ratau has decided to join us,” said Drs. Ross, Avvocato, Eisenberg and Wurzel “and we are sure her experience and competence will be well received by our patients.”

Nearly a decade ago, Dr. Ross and Dr. Avvocato formed a partnership to create Westchester Park Pediatrics, aiming to provide personalized medical care for children and adolescents.  Combining passion with their medical knowledge, they have grown Westchester Park Pediatrics into a thriving and respected office.  They are confident Dr. Ratau will become an additional asset to their patients and practice.
