Assemblyman: Name Tappan Zee Replacement After 9/11 First Responder
While construction is underway, there has been no decision on what the new bridge will be called.

A New York state assemblyman has suggested naming the new Tappan Zee Bridge for a veteran police office who was on duty during the 9/11 attacks.
Writing in the New York Post, Assemblyman Kieran Lalor, R-Dutchess, said the bridge should be named after Joseph Lemm who was killed in December by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan.
Lalor said that would be more appropriate than naming it after a politician.
