Astorino to Run for 3rd Term as County Executive

A formal announcement will likely take place in the spring.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino said he will run for a third term in office.

He told the Journal News that he is putting together a campaign team and will likely make a formal announcement in the spring.

Astorino, a Republican, ran for governor in 2014 against incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, and lost.

Media reports had Astorino being considered for a position the President-elect Donald J. Trump’s cabinet. That did not come to fruition.
