BCW to hold webinar on $2 trillion Federal Stimulus Package

At Monday's program experts will show how to navigate the spending package and explain how to access the extensive benefits it offers

RYE BROOK, NY (March 27, 2020) – This Monday, March 30 at 2 p.m., the Business Council of Westchester will hold a Facebook live webinar - Washington’s $2 Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package: What Will the Impact be for Westchester’s Economy and Businesses?

The free program is open to all and will feature a panel of experts who will discuss how local businesses, non-profits and individuals can benefit from the aid package passed by the Senate and House and expected to be signed by the President.

“Our economy is in a tailspin as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the businesses community needs timely answers to the many questions arising daily as well as resources to connect to services,’’ said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the BCW. “Monday’s webinar will bring together distinguished experts who can help unpack the relevant details in the stimulus package and provide insight on accessing the benefits. It’s just one example of how we have been working overtime to connect our members to resources and to help demystify the process.’’

The largest economic stimulus package in history will provide direct payments to Americans and loans to large and small businesses, dramatically expand unemployment insurance to cover freelance and gig workers and extend additional resources to health-care providers. The impact on various economic sectors will be evaluated.

The BCW panel, moderated by Marsha Gordon, will feature Bryan X. Grimaldi, Of Counsel, Greenberg Traurig, LLP; Anthony Justic, Partner, Certified Public Accountant, Maier, Markey & Justic LLP; and Monica Prahl Schulteis, Director, Government Affairs, Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

This is the latest in a series of webinars held by the BCW including subjects such as how to apply for loans being offered by the Small Business Administration and reviewing information on sick leave and other employment issues.
