Blythedale Kicks Off 1st Annual "Dine Out" Fundraiser
Participating restaurants to donate portion of proceeds to the Hospital on October 23, 2018

On May 29, 2018, smiles and smoothies were plentiful at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y. for the kickoff of the 1st Annual “Dine Out For Blythedale” fundraiser.
Celebrity chef, restauranteur and event chair, Waldy Malouf, welcomed patients from the Hospital’s Inpatient and Day Hospital Units, parents and staff to the inaugural event.
Donning a purple “Dine Out” apron, Chef Malouf flipped the fun switch and showcased his skills to create blended beverages with healthy fruits and vegetables during a cooking demonstration.

“We’re here promoting an event we’re doing on October 23, 2018, called ‘Dine Out For Blythedale’ featuring participating restaurants from Westchester, Dutchess, the Hudson Valley, Capital Region and beyond,” said Chef Malouf, a graduate and current Senior Director of Food and Beverage Operations at The Culinary Institute of America. “All you have to do is go out to eat, have fun and then the restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds to this great hospital.”
The money raised will support the care and treatment of Blythedale’s medically complex children, specifically, the “Tiny Miracles Program, which serves the Hospital’s smallest and most fragile babies.

Larry Levine, President and CEO of Blythedale Children’s Hospital, emphasized the importance and vital need for this special event. “About 50% of our patients are under the age of one and many come to us from the neonatal intensive care units from the New York metropolitan region,” he said. “The proceeds from ‘Dine Out’ are going to this important inpatient program to help it continue to grow and flourish.”

Special thanks to Chef Hector Rodriguez, Manager of Blythedale’s Café, and the Hospital’s Child Life, Clinical Nutrition and Development Departments.
