Boykin Elected Westchester County Legislature Chairman
The Democrat represents most of White Plains and all of Scarsdale and West Harrison.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — County Legislator Ben Boykin, D-District 5, became the new chairman of the county legislature Monday in a 13-3 vote. Democrats gained three seats in the November 2017 election and now — with 12 seats of 17 — are a supermajority, lohud.com said.
Boykin represents most of White Plains and all of Scarsdale and West Harrison.
In the past, he served as a member of the White Plains School Board and the White Plains Common Council. He was elected council president three times.

Catherine Parker, D-District 7, of Rye, will take over as Democratic majority leader, previously held by Catherine Borgia, D-District 9.
