Broadview at Purchase College Appoints Julie Cangro as Director of Human Resources
Former White Plains Schools HR Director brings over 20 years of experience across the education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors.

PURCHASE, NY — (March 26, 2026) — Broadview at Purchase College, a university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase, has appointed Julie Cangro as its new Director of Human Resources.
In her new role, Cangro is responsible for overseeing all human resources operations, including employee relations, benefits administration, staff development, onboarding, compliance, and workforce planning. She brings over 20 years of leadership experience across the education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors.

The fact that she has a background in gerontology and has previous senior living experience makes her the perfect person for this position.’’

Prior to joining Broadview, Cangro served as Director of Human Resources for the White Plains City School District. In that capacity, she led district-wide recruitment and onboarding efforts while managing employee relations and collective bargaining agreements. Her career also includes serving as Director of Human Resources at the New York School for the Deaf and holding key labor relations roles at Hamilton Sundstrand and The Children’s Village.
Notably, Cangro’s career began at Sterling Glen of Rye Brook, a senior living residence, where she served as a Move-In Coordinator helping residents transition into their new homes.

Cangro holds a Master of Professional Studies in Human Resources from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in Gerontology. She is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and a graduate of the Cornell University Industrial and Labor Relations School Certificate Program. Fluent in American Sign Language, she is committed to fostering effective communication and inclusion within the Broadview community.
