It's not too late to register for a summer camp that makes sense! The Center for Literacy Enrichment at Pace University has a few spots left in its Summer Program, which begins on Monday, June 30th. This is a great program for parents concerned that their children will lose academic ground over the summer, or for those just want to get ahead academically while having fun.
From pre-schoolers to middle school students, the program provides children with an opportunity to maintain their reading, writing, and comprehension skills, while making academic gains in fun and unique ways. Age-appropriate instruction includes developing phonemic awareness, improving decoding skills, and strengthening reading comprehension through a variety of activities, including digital storytelling, arts and crafts, chess, Scrabble, and readers theater.
The program, which runs Monday through Thursday from June 30th - July 24th, offers full (9am - 3pm) and half (9am - 12pm ) day sessions. Certified teachers provide small-group instruction, as well as theme-based indoor and outdoor activities including science experiments, crafts, and games in a non-competitive setting. REMAINING SPACES ARE LIMITED.
For more than 42 years, the Center for Literacy Enrichment has been providing programs that encourage children to become lifelong readers and writers. The Summer Program is held on the campus of Pace University Law School, 78 North Broadway, White Plains.
