This project, inspired by The George Benson Cookbook, mines the rich vein of the soul-jazz tradition for a fresh take on the classic guitar-sax-organ-drums format. NYC-based guitarist Amanda Monaco brings her special way with melodies on her original compositions, plus covers of Tommy Flanagan and Fred Lacey, played with aplomb by a crack corps of Lauren Sevian, Jason Yeager, and Matt Wilson.
