You and your dog can try out four different activities and watch demonstrations by some of our dog/student teams.

Jazz On Main

For the outstanding pianist/composer Laura Dubin, the serious pursuit of jazz expression began at the age of 12 in her native Rochester, NY. In 2007 she embarked on a 7-year journey of study and performing that brought her to various points in the U.S. and Latin America; and now Laura’s path has come full circle to her hometown.
With her husband and musical partner, drummer Antonio H. Guerrero – who she met during her 2011-2012 stint with a jazz trio on Holland America Line cruise ships touring Europe, French Polynesia and the Caribbean; and with whom she performed in clubs, major venues and festivals while they were living in Mexico City from 2013-2014 – Laura returned to Rochester in 2014, quickly becoming a thriving member of its cultural scene both as a performer and educator. Now, in the present day, Laura and Antonio are among the most sought-after jazz musicians in the region (both as a duo and as members of the Laura Dubin Trio), consistently delighting and wowing audiences of all ages with their unique and highly personal style of music.
After establishing themselves in Rochester in 2014 and quickly gaining acclaim as a popular ensemble, the Laura Dubin Trio reached a new plateau with a triumphant featured performance at the prestigious Rochester International Jazz Festival in 2016. They went on to perform at the festival again in 2017, 2019, 2023, and 2025 - and they are scheduled to perform in 2026 as well. The 2016 performance was recorded and then released as an album later that year. Following her two previous albums – 2013’s "Introducing the Laura Dubin Trio," and "Laura Dubin Plays the Great American Songbook" in 2015 – "Laura Dubin Trio Live at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival" is undeniable evidence of the development of a highly promising young musician into a mature and powerful new presence on the contemporary jazz scene. Where her debut album included ten original compositions and the second featured her original arrangements of ten classic songs by Gershwin, Porter, Berlin and other legends of song, the live album combines her outstanding composing and superb arranging skills to reveal an artist of depth, command and originality – further expressed through her own unique take on the “mashup” concept.<a href="https://eventvesta.com/events/145596/t/tickets" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">View&nbsp;Tickets &amp; More Info</a>

Come hear the Matt Garrison Quartet featuring David Janeway, Dan Asher and Scott Latzsky this Sunday at Hastings on Jazz. HOJ is&nbsp;a free outdoor jazz concert series running from June 7-August 9. Each Sunday from 3-530 pm David Janeway presents a Quartet or Quintet with leading jazz musicians from the greater NYC region. Stan Ipcus is a hip-hop artist from White Plains (currently residing in Bedford Hills) who has represented the 914 in his music for well over two decades. With street-wise, clever lyrics, in-the-pocket flows, and production inspired by the boom bap, sample-heavy classics he was raised on in the ‘90s, Stan has managed to age gracefully as an MC and earn his respect across the underground hip-hop community in New York and beyond.
His music can be heard regularly on popular Hot 97 and Shade 45 rap radio shows, and he’s performed at legendary venues in New York ranging from Madison Square Garden to Webster Hall to the Capitol Theatre here in Westchester County. Ipcus is also featured on Matisyahu’s GRAMMY-nominated album Youth, and he’s the author of the critically-acclaimed book Do Remember! The Golden Era of NYC Hip-Hop Mixtapes.
Stan's had three projects celebrated on Bandcamp's monthly Best Hip-Hop list, including his 2024 LP Sleep If You Want which is out now on all streaming platforms and available on Tape Kingz vinyl.&nbsp;
On July 30th, Stan Ipcus will be performing an intimate set at Jazz On Main with a host of friends and frequent collaborators including beatboxer Max Bent, DJ Marcus Pinn, and singer/songwriter Matty B.&nbsp;
About Max Bent:
Max Bent is a beatboxer and producer who facilitates collective creativity through live community events. He also instructs beatboxing at the Peabody Conservatory, and has performed with Stan Ipcus since their college days in the late '90s at the University of Maryland.
About Marcus Pinn:
Marcus Pinn is a DJ, producer, and film aficionado with hip-hop roots and strong ties to the underground. His beat project Night Music is available now via Three Dollar Pistol Music, and he’s contributed to recent projects by Zilla Rocca, Spanish Ran, and Stan Ipcus.
About Matty B:
Matt Barrett aka Matty B is a singer/songwriter based in Seacliff, New York who performs guitar-driven, bluesy rock ballads that draw inspiration from The Black Crowes, Grateful Dead, and Otis Redding. The project emphasizes melodic storytelling and spontaneous dialogue. Hillai Govreen, a New York–based clarinetist and saxophonist, brings a warm tone and melodic sensibility. Hillai studied at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and has collaborated with artists such as George Cables, Steve Cardenas, and Eric McPherson. Pianist Nitsan Kolko contributes a sophisticated harmonic approach, blending lyrical sensitivity with a deep connection to Brazilian rhythms and grooves.
