Centennial Concert to Feature White Plains Natives

The concert is part of a series at Downtown Music at Grace.

WHITE PLAINS, NY - A special concert performance of Downtown Music at Grace will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6.

In honor of the City of White Plains Centennial, two of the city’s natives will perform with the Downtown Sinfonietta.

Flutist Mindy Kaufman and pianist William Wolfram will be featured during the concert.

Kaufman will perform Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1, and Wolfram will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

Kaufman joined the New York Philharmonic in 1979 at the age of 22. She has soloed with the orchestra under the batons of Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur, and Lorin Maazel.

Wolfram won a silver medal at the William Kapell and Naumburg international piano competitions and took home the bronze at the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow.

Downtown Music at Grace has been offering classical music concerts since 1988. The concerts are held in Grace Church, 33 Church Street, at the corner of Main and Church.
