Families are invited to enjoy Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics — a solo acrobatic performance. Li Liu, the star of the show, performs hand balancing, plate spinning, ribbon dancing, diabolos and foot juggling. Volunteers get to join her on stage to create an impromptu ribbon dance, and also to try their hand at plate spinning.
Along with acrobatics, LiuLiu will teach the audience some of the rituals of Chinese New Year, some basic Chinese phrases, and will encourage them to think about what it might have been like to grow up in a different time and place.
This program is made possible through support from the City of White Plains.
