White Plains at Class A Track Championship
At Tappan Zee on the 26th, a severe electric storm interrupted the Class A Track & Field Championship, so the balance of the meet was held on the 27th, with White Plains one of 24 teams competing on the boys side, and 21 for the girls.

The winner of the boys' competition was Arlington of Poughkeepsie, which amassed 88 points, edging New Rochelle for the title, which finished with 84. The Tiger’s boys squad finished in 9th place, with 24.25 points.
The White Plains girls finished 20th, with 2 points. New Rochelle placed first in the girls competition with 128 points with runner-up Mount Vernon tallying 53 points.
Boys
In the boys' 400, Tyler Ford was 7th, timed at 51.2, while Christopher Cardon finished 2nd in the 800, clocked at 1:57.9. Michael Michell was 3rd in the 3200, with a time of 10:08.5.
Winning the Long Jump, Tom Johnson's distance of 22-10.25, elevated him to National Elite status, and in the High Jump, James McCormack was in a 3 way tie for 4th, at 5-03.00.
Girls
It was Jessica Myrthill who earned her team its 2 points, as she finished 3rd in the 400, with a clocking of 59.6. Tori Hamilton's four way tie in the High Jump, at 4-08.00, was just shy of being a point earner.

White Plains High School will host the Section 1 boys lacrosse championships today.

Class C 3 p.m. No. 1 Bronxville (18-1) vs. No. 11 Hendrick Hudson (10-9)
Class A 5:30 p.m. No. 4 Mahopac (11-7) vs. No. 10 Mamaroneck (9-10)
Class B 8 p.m. No. 1 Yorktown (14-4) vs. No. 2 John Jay (12-6)
