Coronavirus: 557 Deaths In Westchester County
The county executive said there has been a slow but steady decrease in the number of active cases of the new coronavirus.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Almost 20,000 Westchester County residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus. County Executive George Latimer said Monday at a news conference that 19,786 residents were confirmed to have tested positive for the virus.
He said that, of the total, there are 10,460 active cases in the county.
Latimer said the county has monitored the active cases over the last six days and found that they've gone down each day.

"It's not a huge amount," he said, "but it's a slow and steady decrease."

Latimer said the current number of Westchester residents in the hospital because of the new coronavirus is 1,194.
There have been 557 deaths of Westchester residents.
According to state data, as of Sunday, there have been 113 deaths of adult care and nursing home residents.
Latimer said that the winds and rain forced the outdoor testing centers at Glen Island Park and Westchester Medical Center to close Monday. They are set to reopen Tuesday.
Yonkers leads the county in number of confirmed new coronavirus cases at 2,661. Mount Vernon is second at 1,146, followed by New Rochelle at 1,200. Numbers for other municipalities can be found on the map below.
