Coronavirus: Westchester's Active Cases Continue To Decrease
Work converting the county center to a temporary hospital has been completed.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — The number of active cases of the new coronavirus continues to drop in Westchester County. County Executive George Latimer said at his Wednesday news conference that, while there were 25,276 confirmed positive cases of the virus, the number of active cases dropped to 9,389.
He said that the active cases decreased by 500 from Tuesday.

The number of cumulative positive cases is up about 600 over Tuesday.
Latimer said the number of deaths of Westchester residents due to the new coronavirus is now 838, up 29 from Tuesday.

He said work on the county center converting it to a hospital was completed two days ago. It will be inspected by the state officials and, once they've signed off on it, it will be available for overflow patients.
