Corporate Audio Visual Services Employee Training Program Continues to Improve Customer Service

The Elmsford-based business prides itself on developing their employees' skills to the benefit of their company and customers.

There are many reasons why small businesses do not always take the appropriate/necessary time to invest in employee training, spanning the range from overarching budget constraints to management inexperience and even management failing to see the need to adequately train existing staff and new hires. It becomes very quickly evident in day-to-day business dealings with vendors and clients that these reasons for lack of training are short-sighted and can ultimately be detrimental to the business.

Corporate Audio Visual Services, an Elmsford based business, which specializes in audio, visual, lighting and staging solutions, is proud to continue taking a different approach and once again held a companywide staff-training program designed to enhance their employees’ skills. This training was provided in order to upgrade their technical proficiency and maximize their customer relationship abilities.

“It is becoming more and more rare for small businesses to invest this kind of time and resources on training their employees,” Joe Guilderson, President stated. “We understand that today’s economy can create financial strain on businesses of our size, however we feel that this is our opportunity to make ourselves and all of our team the best that we can be. We strive to provide our customers with the best experience possible, and that begins with our staff.”

Guildersons’ company believes that despite the monetary outlays, staff training with enlistment of key team members as teaching leads is a wise long-term investment. For example, in what Guilderson called the “highlight moment” of this conference, the company had its very first symposium featuring two clients including Robert Sanders, President, Hospitality Resource Group and Tom Conklin, President, Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, and two lead engineers. The session was called “Creating Value” and focused on what the company’s work onsite means to their clients.

Our fundraising events are critical for us to help make wishes happen, and Joe and his team have been crucial to the success of those events," said Tom Conklin, President, Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley. "One of the reasons is his team's strong focus on detail and customer satisfaction. This type of training is important to maintaining the level of service we have come to expect from Corporate AV."

The Elmsford-based business prides itself on developing their employees’ skillset and recognizes that employee training benefits both the employee and the customer. Corporate AV’s employee training leads to a higher level of customer, technical, and creative service. Their company wide aim is to provide solutions, not just equipment, and they intend to continue hosting similar training sessions in the future. This training session even featured a live music setup and a subsequent “jam session,” both described by Guilderson as, “…great training setups for our trainees to learn from.” Guilderson and Senior Staff Jim Marlowe, Steve Sherer, Peter Malone and Edward Morrell were once again active participants in the training.
