Customers Can be Their Own Chefs for Dinner at Bao in White Plains
The Chinese restaurant's patrons can cook dinner on their tables using small portable gas stoves.

An innovated and unusual “cook-it-yourself” dish called Shabu Shabu has been introduced by Bao in downtown White Plains. It is prepared from more ingredients than any other dish offered at the restaurant and can be cooked by the customers on their tables using small portable gas stoves.
The cost is $29.95 per person and at least four customers must want to eat Shabu Shabu. All the guests at a table must order it and the restaurant needs 24-hour advance notification.
The ingredients are brought to the table in an array of small plates and include baby bok choy. beef, cabbage, chicken broth, fish balls, fresh fish filet, lamb, noodles, potatoes, spinach, tofu, and vegetables. Many dipping sauces are provided as well including chili, garlic, peanut and Sacha.
