Off-Duty Elmsford Police Officer Struck by Car, In Critical Condition
The 45-year-old officer's name has not yet been released. The incident occurred Sunday night.

A 45-year-old Elmsford police officer is in critical condition Monday, suffering from internal and head injuries after he was struck by a car in Hawthorne Sunday night, according to Mount Pleasant police.
The Journal News reports the officer, who was a pedestrian at the time, was struck at about 8:20 p.m. on Bradhurst Avenue near Chateau Lane. His name has not yet been released; he is being treated at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
Police said it appeared the officer was trying to cross the street when he was struck by a car traveling northbound.
