The United Nations Association (UNA-USA) of Westchester invites you to join its UN Day celebration on Sunday October 21 with its program "Sustainable Energy for All: Solutions for a Prosperous World". Registration can be made on line at www.unawestchester.org. The keynote presentation will be by Nikhil Seth, Director of the UN's Divsion for Sustainable Development. A presentation will also be made by Elizabeth Silleck, Regional Coordinator of NYSERDA's Smart Energy Communities program.
An exhibition will be held of local sustainable energy solutions: Energy Smart Communities Program (NYSERDA); Clean Cookstoves (Energy Project of UNA Southern NY Division); Green Mountain Energy; Science Barge; and sustainability projects by Yorktown HS students.
Sustainability Awards will be presented to youth leaders from Hastings HS, Yonkers HS, Yorktown HS and Pace University. Entertainment will be provided by the eco-rock band Solar Punch, just back from its tour of India.
