FASNY: 'Capitulation of Settlement'
The City's 11th hour legal end-run does NOT serve the fiduciary interests of White Plains citizens.
Andrea Colombel SOROS, FASNY parent, chairperson of its board and daughter of George Soros (fabled billionaire left-wing Democratic Party donor), 'expects' the White Plains City Council to vote to approve a "stipulation of settlement" with FASNY, thus ending an on-going legal appeal the City of White Plains has with FASNY.
This is a shocking twist in this 'David vs. Goliath' battle. What Ms. Soros 'expects' usually happens so this latest document dump by the City on the eve of a three day holiday ( late Thursday PM release for Tuesday PM meeting ) is just more lack of transparency on the City's part. Who does the City represent here?
Since this is NOT a SEQR (State Environmental Quality Review) vote, it does not require a supermajority vote. One can 'expect' the vote to be 4-3 for this "stipulation of settlement" bullying.

Mayor Tom Roach, Council members John Kirkpatrick (each received campaign contributions from FASNY in the last election ), Beth Smayda and John Martin will no doubt vote in unison as they did previously on the Hathaway Lane vote.
The City has an excellent legal case. It should continue to vigorously defend against FASNY's frivolous lawsuit and do its fiduciary duty for its citizens. It should not put an outside, wealthy, politically connected developer, FASNY, before White Plains citizens.

The adage, 'Politicians like diapers need to be changed often for the same reason', could not be not be more appropriate. These City Hall legal wranglings do not pass the smell test. Hopefully, our White Plains 'Gang of Four' will think about their radioactive vote which will be REMEMBERED at the next election.
PROTECT OUR WHITE PLAINS NEIGHBORHOODS!
