FASNY: Permanent Disadvantage
The southern part of White Plains, home to the most number of City schools, is threatened by a traffic tsunami if FASNY is approved.

Dear Mayor Roach and Common Council Members,
As you know, there are currently more schools in the area of south White Plains, than in any other area of White Plains, If you are on North Street, Ridgeway, Mamaroneck Avenue or Bryant Avenue not to mention the Henry Hudson Parkway during commuter hours, there is already an immense amount of traffic. As you also know, Ridgeway is a narrow street. The idea of allowing a school of 650 students on Ridgeway is a very bad idea. The residents of south White Plains certainly do not need the traffic or the major upset that allowing FASNY to build even a 650 student campus on Ridgeway would cause. I am sure that you all know this as well. If you make the unwise decision to permit this, you will be responsible for a great deal of damage to south White Plains that will last forever. I believe you know that FASNY doesn't belong on Ridgeway.
The giant mess that the construction of a FASNY school will make on Ridgeway will affect the residents in the area of south White Plains for many years. The mess the German School made on North Street for a couple of years was already bad. North Street is considerably wider than Ridgeway but even so, traffic was affected by the trucks and construction and the mess. The building that the German School did is a drop in the bucket to what FASNY is planning. While years of construction are going on, the residents of south White Plains will be severely affected. I can't believe that people elected by the residents of White Plains can consider allowing such a bad idea to go forward.
For the sake of south White Plains as well as the rest of White Plains please VOTE NO on this new plan. The French American School will not bring any advantagse to White Plains and will certainly be responsible for a great many permanent disadvantages. I know you must realize this. Please vote accordingly.
Sincerely,
Pat Silbert
