Georgia Kramer Joins Abrams Fensterman Matrimonial Practice Group

Abrams Fensterman is pleased to announce that Georgia Kramer has joined the firm’s matrimonial and family law practice groups. Ms. Kramer is a sought-after matrimonial attorney with more than 50 years of experience. Ms. Kramer will apply her vast knowledge of helping families navigate some of the most challenging processes of their lives to her work at Abrams Fensterman.

“The matrimonial practice group at Abrams Fensterman consists of Westchester County’s top attorneys in this area,” says Georgia Kramer. “I am thrilled to join this talented group and apply my knowledge as the firm continues to grow.”

Ms. Kramer has been a member of the Bar of the State of New York since 1967 and currently serves on the ethics committee of the Westchester County Bar Association. She is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals. For 20 years, Ms. Kramer was the Co-Chair of the Matrimonial Committee of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. She frequently lectures at bar associations and continuing legal education seminars. She has addressed various topics including drafting separation agreements, strategies for retirement assets in a divorce, net worth statements, social security, and drafting college provisions both in her lectures and numerous writings. Additionally, she was a contributing writer for the book Strategies for Family Law in New York, 2012 ed., published by West/Thompson Reuters.

Throughout her career, Ms. Kramer has been recognized for her contributions to the legal community. She received the AJC’s 2013 Judge Learned Hand Award, the Corporate LiveWire award for Attorney of the Year in 2014, and the Corporate LiveWire Global award in 2016 in the tax category. Ms. Kramer has also been chosen as a Top Ten Matrimonial Attorney in Westchester as a Super Lawyer, a Client Champion, a Leading Matrimonial Attorney in 2017, Lawyer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014, and a member of the Best Attorneys of America.

Ms. Kramer graduated from New York University School of Law cum laude, where she was an Editor of the Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. She then received a Master of Law in taxation from New York University in 1983.
