Good Counsel Academy Elementary Students Perform in Annual Christmas Concert and Pageant

Christmas magic is in the air in Valhalla. Good Counsel Academy Elementary’s (GCAE) student body put on a fabulous Christmas Concert and Pageant, under the leadership of their Music Director, Mrs. Nina Scalercio, on Thursday, December 15th. Three members of the newly formed GCAE orchestra performed in the pre-concert recital, followed by GCAE’s growing Glee Club who sang contemporary Christmas music including “Believe” and “I Do Believe in Christmas.” Students sang holiday favorites including “Silent Night,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Up on the Housetop.” Representatives from each class put on a beautiful Living Nativity, which was then followed by the grand finale during which students sang “Joy to the World” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Nearly 250 family members and friends attended the event. In keeping with the Academy’s mission of compassion and charity, “cost of admission” was a donation to Shepherd’s Flock. Over three boxes of non perishables were collected to help feed the homeless during the holiday season.

GCAE is a private school located in Valhalla and sponsored by the Sisters of the Divine Compassion. It is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and offers a quality education for children Pre-kindergarten through grade 8. http://www.goodcounselelementary.net/
