Gun Show to Return to Westchester County Center
The shows had been temporarily banned in the wake of school shootings.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — After a four-year hiatus, a gun show will return to the Westchester County Center.
According to the Journal News, Westchester Collectors will come back to White Plains with a sportsman firearm and knife show and sale in January.
Gun shows were banned at the facility after the Columbine High School shooting in Colorado and in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, a Democrat, said he doesn’t think it is appropriate to promote the sale of guns in a government-owned building.
“If people want to purchase guns they should purchase the guns from reputable dealers at privately owned gun shops,” he said in an email.

County Board of Legislators Chairman Michael Kaplowitz, a Democrat, said it was unacceptable that he had not been informed through official channels that the show had been scheduled when the Journal News contacted him for a comment.
