A preliminary investigation indicates that William G. Mosquera, 63, of Kissimmee, Florida was driving an eastbound tractor trailer when it side-swept an eastbound Volkswagon sedan being driven by Ian S. Carney, 52, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, police said.
Mosquera’s tractor trailer overturned over the center median, which then struck a westbound tractor trailer being driven by Nicholas A. Terzi, 30, of Lindenhurst, police said.

Only Terzi suffered minor injuries, police said. A load of solar panels spilled onto the roadway during the collision, according to police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Mosquera's trailer collided with a trailer being driven by Terzi. Police have since clarified the facts, saying that they had initially been given incorrect information at the scene.
