Jury Convicts Man of Trying to Murder His Girlfriend, Her Son

The woman's son tried to intervene.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A White Plains man accused of viciously stabbing his girlfriend was found guilty by a jury Wednesday.

Bairon Farez Llanos, 38, of Dobbs Ferry Road, was convicted of the following:

  • Two counts, second-degree attempted murder, felonies
  • First-degree assault, a felony
  • First-degree attempted assault, a felony
  • Two counts, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors

Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty said , on July 19, 2015 around 3:45 a.m., Llanos approached the victim outside her home and grabbed her by the ears until they started to bleed.

Shortly afterward, he stabbed her with a kitchen knife. She suffered a stab wound to her neck and her back shoulder blade.

The victim had a lacerated ear, lacerated thyroid gland and a shredded internal jugular vein.

Her son tried to intervene, McCarty said, but Llanos got on top of him and tried to stab him in the heart.

The son deflected the knife and suffered only a laceration to the chest.

The woman was taken to Westchester Medical Center where she underwent emergency surgery.

Llanos was arrested that same day by the Greenburgh Police Department.

He is being held in jail for sentencing August 24.

Llanos faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison for each of the two counts of attempted murder.
