League of Women Voters of White Plains to host Candidate's Forum on October 13th
All are welcome to meet and question local candidates running in this important election
This year the League of Woman Voters of White Plains will hold a dual
meeting on October 13th at the Church Street School auditorium (295
Church St.) The first part, from approximately 7 - 8 PM, will be a
candidates forum with candidates from the 88th State Assembly
District and the 37th State Senate district participating. Invited in the
contested races are George Latimer and Julie Killian and Amy Paulin
and Anthony DeCintio. In the second part, after the Forum, from
approximately 8 - 9 PM, unopposed candidates, David Buchwald and
Andrea Stewart Cousins are invited for a conversation with the
audience and to answer questions.
Questions for the first part will be submitted in writing by audience
members. If you cannot attend, you can email your questions to

Thomas Jefferson wrote that “an enlightened citizenry is
indispensable for the proper functioning of the republic. Self-
government is not possible unless the citizens are educated
sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight.” The purpose of the
Forum is to do just that, educate citizens about local issues.
