LOFT LGBT Community Center in White Plains to Host "Pride 2016" on June 4, 2016

Admission and parking for this afternoon event are free.

"Pride 2016," a multiple-attraction, family-entertainment event, will take place at the LOFT LGBT Community Center in White Plains, NY from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, rain or shine. Musical performances by Broadway stars and the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus are highlights of the program.

The event will also have a raffle, photo booth, a pet costume contest, and multiple activities for kids such as a bounce house, and professional face painting. More than 35 food and merchandise vendors will offer their wares.

The cast of performers includes three members of the group Broadway Sings for Pride: Christine Dwyer, Matt DeAngelis and Adam B. Shapiro. Dwyer starred in Wicked on Broadway as Elphaba and was on national tour for Rent; DeAngelis appeared on Broadway in the revival of Hair and on national tours for Once, American Idiot, and Hair; and Shapiro performed in HBO Film’s The Normal Heart, NBC’s The Mystery of Laura, and Netflix’s Master of None.

Magician-Illusionist David Rosenstein and Tonewall, a pop acapella group of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus will also entertain.

The program includes a talent show with a $350 first-place cash prize, a raffle offering as prizes--a pair of round trip airline tickets, a weekend getaway package for two at Rainbow Mountain Resort, dinner and show for two at the Westchester Broadway Theater in Elmsford, NY, and a 50/50 cash-split raffle.

Founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1993, The LOFT provides a safe gathering place for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and supportive community of New York’s Lower Hudson Valley. It facilitates a wide range of educational, health, social service and recreational programs, and advocates for improved services.
