Man Killed in Maine Propane Explosion Grew Up in White Plains
Peter Corey was born in White Plains in 1947.

Peter Corey, killed in a propane explosion that turned his condo to powder June 25, according to media reports, was a White Plains native.
His obituary in the Portland (ME) Press Herald said, in part:
Peter George Corey was born on May 12, 1947 in White Plains, N.Y. to Walter E. Corey, Jr. and Theresa Stallone. Educated in local schools, he developed an early interest in geography, history and art, all of which he nurtured throughout the many travels of his life.
From afar, Peter may have seemed a private person; to his friends at the Y and elsewhere in Greater Portland his quiet life was a model of commitment, love and caring. He gave of himself and of his resources quietly, unstintingly and without expecting anything in return.
