The five-star 200-bed skilled nursing facility on Tibbits Avenue off of Post Road in White Plains, the Martine Center of Rehabilitation and Healthcare, is part of the seven-percent of elite nursing homes in this county, according to the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA)for 2019. The Centers Health Care facility has just been named a winner of the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award, an award of significant distinction established in 2008 by the ACHCA. The award is named after one of ACHCA’s most revered late leaders, Mr. Eli Pick, and it recognizes administrators of top‐performing skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) who have achieved excellence well beyond the infamous Five Star rating system by Medicare.gov. ACHCA commended the staff at Martine Center and its Administrator, Mr. Shragi Weisz.

“We are so proud of Shragi and his entire team at Martine Center,” said Kenny Rozenberg, Chief Executive Officer of Centers Health Care. “Martine Center is a place where residents are comfortable and there’s always something going for them. Whether you are there for state-of-the-art rehabilitation or you’re there for the long run, Shragi and his team make sure the facility if professionally run and the families and residents are happy. This award only proves that.”

According to the ACHCA, the criteria of this award are carefully reviewed and updated each year, to assure those top performing facilities are duly recognized and that the award continues to raise the bar for organizational performance. The ACHCA remains the only professional membership association devoted solely to connecting and enhancing the leadership of the Administrator in today’s long term care industry.
As the sole winner, the ACHCA honored Genevieve Sorensen, Administrator of Schulman and Schachne Institute in Brooklyn, New York of the 2019 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. Last month, the award was celebrated at ACHCA’s Annual Convocation and Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky on March 18. Statistically this year, 1,129 facilities met the selection criteria, whereby 286 administrators in 35 states were awarded the facility leadership award nationally.
