After prolonged, fiery negotiations, the Metropolitan Opera has announced tentative agreements with the two biggest unions: Local 802 and AGMA, which basically represent its all-important orchestra and chorus. Ten lesser unions have a newly extended deadline, (midnight, Tuesday 8/19/2014,) to settle. It is anticipated that they will manage agreements also.
