More than $400,000 already contributed to Legal Services of the Hudson Valley’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Let Justice Grow Campaign to benefit the organization's efforts to prevent homelessness for children and families.

Last November of 2016, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) kicked-off its 50th anniversary celebration with the launch of its Let Justice Grow $1 million campaign to benefit the organization’s efforts to prevent homelessness for children and families across the Hudson Valley.

In just a few short months, the nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, comprehensive civil legal services to those that cannot afford it, has already raised more than $400,000 toward that effort.

Tom Gabriel, LSHV’s Chief Development Officer said, “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals and businesses in the community who have stepped-up to support our efforts to provide a helping hand to our neighbors in need during times of tragedy and other life-threatening circumstances.”

The organization’s Let Justice Grow 50th Anniversary Campaign is co-chaired by LSHV Board Members, Joshua E. Kimerling, Esq. (Managing Partner, Cuddy & Feder) and Thomas R. Lalla, Jr., Esq. (retired General Counsel, Pernod Ricard USA). The funds raised will enable LSHV to promote household and community stability by providing legal advice and counsel to homeowners in foreclosure and tax proceedings and assist tenants in unwarranted eviction cases to help families stay in their homes and remain productive members of society.

LSHV’s attorneys assist poor, low-income, disabled and other vulnerable individuals and families across the seven counties of the lower and mid-Hudson Valley (Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan). They advocate for and represent people with nowhere else to turn in hearings, negotiations and court proceedings across a wide range of urgent legal needs including: housing emergencies (eviction and foreclosure prevention), domestic violence, children’s law and advocacy, elder law, disability law, healthcare, consumer fraud and more.
