N. White Plains, Port Chester Armed Robberies May Be Linked

The robberies occurred hours apart Tuesday morning.

ARMONK, NY — Police in the Town of North Castle are investigating an armed robbery that took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 12, and they say it may be connected to a similar robbery that happened a couple hours later in Port Chester. Shortly before 1 a.m., a lone man robbed the Exxon gas station and convenience store located at 750 North Broadway in the hamlet of North White Plains.

Police said only the clerk was in the store when the suspect entered, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect fled on foot before police got to the scene. Police said they were confident he left the area.

The suspect was described as a white man, who is possibly Hispanic. He appeared to have dark hair and was about 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He was wearing a gray sweat shirt and sweat pants and had a white surgical-type mask over his face.

Around 2:20 a.m., a similar robbery occurred at the Shell station located at 223 Boston Post Road in Port Chester, lohud.com said.

North Castle Town Police said the nature of the Port Chester crime, as well as the description of the suspect in both, led them to link the two together.
