New Details About Today’s Severe Weather Threat: White Plains Weather
We share the latest timeline on when the worst of the weather is expected to arrive around White Plains today.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The temps will be in the 60s on the first day of March today but we’re dealing with dense fog, expected heavy downpours, possible thunderstorms and strong gusty winds too.
The National Weather Service has updated its Hazardous Weather Outlooks and issued Wind Advisories for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

"While the set up is not as potent as it was last weekend, there are some similarities," said Alex Marra of Hudson Valley Weather. The forecast puts the most severe storms to our south, and the cloud cover will help stabilize things if it persists, he said.

"Either way we should be aware of the threat of strong to severe storms this afternoon and evening, storms may contain hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning, heavy rain and even an isolated tornado can’t be completely ruled out," Marra said.
But first, expect steady rain in the morning.

And because weather in the Hudson Valley is so unpredictable, there’s still a chance for some light snow on Friday, too.
