Morris County Man Pops the Question at Westchester's Winter Wonderland

VALHALLA, NY — There was romance on the ice at Westchester’s Winter Wonderland this weekend when New Jersey residents Tina Bacolas and Matt Iaccheo hit the rink.

On Saturday, Iaccheo hid a box with an engagement ring in Bacolas’ ice skate as she was putting it on. She noticed it, he proposed — and she said yes.

County officials offer congratulations to the Pompton Plains couple.

Westchester’s Winter Wonderland is presented by the Westchester Parks Foundation and takes place at Kensico Dam Plaza. There are myriad attractions and events — and it's beautiful at night with light features all over the grounds, including Candy Cane Lane and the Musical Light Show. Skating is unlimited, and skates are availabe, at the RangersTown Rink. Three holiday rides include the Winter Hay Ride to the "dancing" cherry trees at the base of the Kensico Dam.
