Nita Lowey To Be Celebrated For 32 Years Of Service
Lowey announced in October 2019 that she would not be seeking re-election in 2020.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — A celebration — albeit virtually — will be held to fete outgoing Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, who is retiring from Congress.
The online celebration for the woman who represented the 17th Congressional District will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Organizers said it will be in recognition of Lowey's 32 years of service in the House of Representatives and her historic tenure as the first chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee.

The celebration, which will be live streamed on the House Appropriations Committee's YouTube page, will also include an unveiling of her portrait in the committee room.
