No Increase Proposed for WCC Tuition in Astorino's Budget
The Board of Legislators is scheduled to vote on the spending package August 1.

White Plains, NY — There will be no tuition increase for students at Westchester Community College for the 2016-17 school year if County Executive Robert Astorino’s budget is approved.

Astorino submitted a proposed spending package to the Board of Legislators Monday that contains a $500,000 increased contribution from the county, according to information provided by his office.

The college’s operating budget for 2016-17 would be $122.5 million, including the county’s $29.8 million contribution.
Salaried positions at the college will stay at 547.

The proposed budget also increase the college’s capital spending by $800,000 to $3.8 million. Projects include roof replacement, infrastructure upgrades and technology upgrades to the main and satellite campuses.
A vote by the Board of Legislators on the budget will take place August 1.
