“O Romeo, Romeo…”

"O Romeo, Romeo, Wherefore art thou Romeo?" His answer: "Here, I am in Turnure Park at 7pm on the evening of July 13." So I'll be tailing Juliet to the White Plains performance, which this year is presented with Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Once again, ArtsWestchester is partnering with the City of White Plains, thanks to Peckham Industries, to continue this summer tradition for the fourth year in a row. White Plains residents and visitors will have the chance to watch the tragic star-crossed lovers and the dysfunctional Montague and Capulet families while lounging on blankets and lawn chairs. The evening promises to be more fun than “House of Cards.” And, there will even be refreshments for sale.

“We are so pleased to be able to continue to offer this family-friendly event to our residents in collaboration with ArtsWestchester,” recently Mayor Roach said. “This year,” He continued, “we have partnered with Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, whose reputation for world-class Shakespeare productions is well known. Events such as this one add to the draw of White Plains as a community and create an interest in the City that extends beyond our borders.”

So for all of you looking for love, revenge and the ultimate tragedy, plan to join me at Turnure Park next week. In the event of rain, the play will be held indoors at the Eastview Middle School.
