'Pathway to Progress' Opens at New York Medical College in Valhalla

State Sen. Terrence Murphy and other officials were on hand for the ceremony Wednesday.

New York State Sen. Terrence Murphy, and a host of local and school officials, Wednesday officially opened the Pathway to Progress on the campus of New York Medical College.

“This pathway symbolizes the success that lies ahead of us if we continue to work together,” said Murphy during the ceremony. “The opening of the Pathway to Progress links one of the most advanced research facilities in the Hudson Valley, the biotech incubator, with the main campus of one of the most prestigious medical schools in the nation. Everyday, I continue to be impressed by the vision and passion of the New York Medical College and look forward to a long partnership with one of New York’s higher educational gems.”

Among those in attendance were: Mt. Pleasant Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi; Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti; Westchester County Legislator MaryJane Shimsky; Deputy County Exeuctive Kevin Plunkett; New York Medical College Chancellor Dr. Edward Halperin; NYMC Vice President for Government Affairs, Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Practices Dr. Robert Amler; Westchester County Legislator Michael Smith; President of Westchester Business Council Marsha Gordon; Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation President/CEO Larry Gottlieb; and Westchester County Commissioner of Public Works Jay Pisco.
