Police Warn Commuters After Assault At Train Station

The area near the White Plains train station was not well lit.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Commuters in White Plains are being cautioned by police after a woman was assaulted near the train station Wednesday. Police said a man on a bicycle grabbed the woman, who was walking alone, from behind and attempted to drag her into a weeded area.

News 12 said the suspect was described as a 5-foot, 3-inch to 5-foot, 6-inch Hispanic man wearing dark clothes.

The area where it occurred is not well lit and is a shortcut for commuters, and police said they should stay on well-lighted paths.
