Police: White Plains Man Arrested with 480 Packets of Heroin

A 45-year-old White Plains man was arrested by police Sunday evening with 480 glassine envelops of heroin, according to Public Safety Commissioner David Chong.

In total, the confiscated heroin weighed 5.212 ounces, Chong said, and also in Anthony D. Roper’s possession at the time was a small amount of cocaine and several counterfeit $50 bills.

Roper was pulled over on Ferris Avenue at about 7:35 p.m. for suspected motor vehicle violations when officers spotted some of the drugs. A subsequent search of the car turned up the rest.

He was charged with felony narcotics and counterfeit violations and was remanded to Westchester County Jail.
