Rain to Washout Part of Weekend: White Plains Weather

Have outdoor plans this weekend? We'll let you know which day is better than the other and how much rain to expect.

It’s definitely an up-and-down weekend forecast.

If you have outdoor plans this weekend, let’s hope it’s on Saturday because it will be a pretty nice spring day and most importantly, it will be a dry day—though it won't be sunny.

"The sun will also not make an appearance on Saturday, as a more organized system passes to our south. This will allow for our first substantial rainfall in quite some time," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

"Rain looks to break out tomorrow evening and persist through the day on Sunday with up to an inch of rain possible. An inch of rain would be almost half of the rain we have seen in the last 60 days to put just how dry it’s been into perspective. Parts of our region are now once again on the drought monitor, so this rainfall is welcomed," Potter said.

The rainfall will help to finish the Sam's Point Preserve wildfire, which was contained Thursday after four days burning more than 2,000 acres.
